Catch Up AI: Smarter Flight Risk, Azure DevOps Integration, and What's Next

By the time a manager notices a top performer is disengaging, the signals have been there for weeks—slower responses, less participation, fewer signs of momentum. The problem isn't that leaders don't care. It's that the signals are scattered.
Catch Up AI is built to change that: detecting early warning signs, guiding managers with better insights, and learning from real work patterns across tools and teams.
In April, we:
  • Improved our Flight Risk model
  • Advanced our Azure DevOps Marketplace extension
  • Prepared a live webinar on evidence-backed performance reviews
  • Published a comparison blog contrasting Catch Up AI's autonomous performance layer with traditional HR and productivity tools
Here's what's new.

Flight Risk Is Getting Smarter

Flight Risk model improvements
Flight risk should not be discovered during an exit interview.
That's why we improved our Flight Risk model to calculate risk using a richer combination of organizational context and real work signals.
Catch Up AI now combines:
  • HRIS documents such as role, team structure, tenure, manager changes, and organizational context.
  • Catch Up tool signals including behavioral, collaboration, communication, and execution patterns from connected workplace tools.
This helps Catch Up AI move beyond surface-level activity tracking and toward a more complete understanding of potential attrition risk.
The goal is simple: help managers and HR teams detect early warning signs before a high-value employee disengages or leaves.
Why it matters:
The earlier leaders understand risk, the more time they have to support the employee, coach the manager, and protect the team from avoidable disruption.

Azure DevOps Marketplace Extension Is in Progress

Azure DevOps Marketplace extension
For the new month, we are working on a Catch Up AI extension for the Azure DevOps Marketplace.
This extension will make it easier for engineering teams using Azure DevOps to connect their work signals directly into Catch Up AI.
For teams managing tickets, repositories, pull requests, delivery workflows, and engineering activity inside Azure DevOps, this creates a smoother path to evidence-backed performance intelligence.
This is an important step in expanding Catch Up AI across Microsoft-based engineering environments.
What this unlocks:
Better support for Azure DevOps teams, stronger engineering performance context, and more complete signals for performance reviews, productivity insights, manager guidance, and flight risk analysis.

New Blog: Catch Up AI vs. Other Performance Intelligence Tools

Catch Up AI vs other performance intelligence tools
We also published a new blog comparing Catch Up AI with other tools in performance management, people analytics, workforce intelligence, and engineering productivity.
Catch Up AI is not just another review workflow or analytics dashboard.
We are building a performance intelligence layer for modern organizations—a system that helps leaders:
  • Detect early signals of performance change, disengagement, collaboration gaps, and flight risk.
  • Act through manager guidance, AI-generated reviews, coaching packets, and next best actions.
  • Learn continuously from real work patterns across tools, teams, and time.
Most tools focus on one narrow layer: surveys, performance reviews, HR workflows, or engineering metrics.
Catch Up AI connects these signals into one intelligence layer so HR, CPOs, CHROs, CTOs, and managers can understand what is happening earlier and respond with more context.

Coming Soon: A Live Session on Evidence-Backed Performance Reviews

Performance reviews are one of the most important moments in the employee journey. But too often, they are still written from memory, scattered notes, and personal opinion.
We believe reviews should be more useful than that.
That's why we're preparing a new live session on “Opinion Reviews”: Evidence-Backed Performance Reviews in Practice.
In this upcoming session, we'll explore how HR and engineering leaders can bring more structure, fairness, and context into the review process using real work signals and AI-supported insights.
The conversation will be designed for HR leaders, CPOs, CHROs, CTOs, People Analytics teams, and managers who want performance reviews to become less subjective, more consistent, and more actionable.
We'll share more details soon, including the final date, speakers, and registration link.

Closing Note

The future of retention won't be built on manual reviews, disconnected dashboards, or manager guesswork. It will be built on AI that surfaces real work signals, enables responsible action, and learns continuously, so leaders can understand their teams and act before problems become expensive.
That is what we are building with Catch Up AI:
Detect early. Act faster. Learn continuously.
Thanks for following our journey. More updates are coming soon.

Warmly,

The Catch Up AI Team
